A professional MMA fighter must decide how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice to secure a future for his seven-year-old daughter.
Original IP · Film · Television
Goldwood Cinema develops original entertainment properties from concept through screenplay, visual strategy, packaging, and production planning—combining creative ambition with market intelligence and disciplined execution.
Founded by writer-director Johnny Olvera.
Current Priority Slate
Goldwood does not treat every property as equally active. These are the projects receiving the greatest near-term development, packaging, financing, and production attention. The broader library remains available when the right partner, mandate, or market opportunity creates a reason to advance it.
A professional MMA fighter must decide how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice to secure a future for his seven-year-old daughter.
A contained psychological detective thriller in which the pursuit of a killer becomes an increasingly intimate confrontation with identity, obsession, and control.
A famous relationship podcaster determined to prove love is nothing more than biology agrees to a seven-day experiment—only to discover the man she is studying may be the first person to truly see her.
Execution Case Study
THE WARREN was deliberately designed, planned, and photographed under extreme production constraints—not as a model budget, but as a test of preparation, visual discipline, production architecture, and capital efficiency.
The result is a 74-minute neo-noir detective mystery shot across more than 30 locations in three principal photography days for $3,200. The lesson is not how cheaply a feature can be made. It is how much screen value disciplined planning can extract from limited resources.
The value of the experiment is not the number. It is the production discipline the number makes visible.
The Goldwood Operating Model
A screenplay is only one layer of a producible property. Goldwood develops story, production logic, market position, and presentation together so a project can be evaluated quickly, discussed clearly, and advanced with purpose.
Concept, character, structure, world, theme, and format are developed as one system before presentation begins.
Locations, cast demands, schedule, coverage, visual ambition, and budget logic are considered while the creative choices are still being made.
Executive commentary, current mandates, financing behavior, distribution shifts, format demand, and audience signals help determine positioning and timing.
Materials, talent, collaborators, financing strategy, and outreach are built around the specific path most likely to move each property toward production.
Style is what people see. Taste is what people trust.
Development Intelligence
Goldwood studies how executives, producers, financiers, distributors, and platforms describe their current priorities—then uses those signals to sharpen projects, packaging, timing, and approach before entering the market.
Market intelligence does not replace taste. It helps aim it.
The IP Library
Goldwood maintains original properties across feature film, television, animation, and premium serialized formats. These projects remain in development and can accelerate when the right creative partner, buyer mandate, financing path, or packaging opportunity appears.

Founder
Goldwood Cinema was founded by writer-director Johnny Olvera to develop original intellectual property with the creative ambition of a filmmaker and the production awareness of someone who understands how the work is actually made.
More than 30 years as a SAG-AFTRA actor and 12 years in script supervision shaped a development philosophy that treats performance, visual language, schedule, coverage, logistics, and editorial consequences as parts of the same creative system.
That philosophy was tested in THE WARREN and now informs how Goldwood develops every property: build the story, understand the production, study the market, and approach the right partners with a clear reason to engage.
Creative Vision. Production Discipline.
Partnerships
